Terra’s Announcement!
Week 14Well the word is out! We told Andrew’s family Friday night and on Saturday we told my family and everyone else. It was overwhelming, but lots of fun. I’m getting more excited to see everyone else so happy for us. The baby is about four and a half inches long already. I haven’t experienced constipation, per se. I seem to be very aware of my system, though. I started eating dried apricots everyday. Bran cereals, whole grain breads, and baked beans are also high fiber foods. Nuts are high in fiber, but can be high in salt and fat. Trying to get back into a regular workout routine hasn’t been easy. As soon as I got over the flu I got a cold. I’m also more tired than usual. It is important though to exercise as long as your health care practitioner says its okay. Avoid anything that would jar or impact your uterus. After the first trimester you should avoid lying flat on your back. The personal trainer at the gym said that I could continue doing standing abdominal exercises. Week 15I’m getting a massage! I’m well overdue. I used to suffer from migraines and occasional massages seem to prevent them for me. I feel like I’ve been fighting off a migraine for three days. My neck, back, and shoulders are very stiff and tight. The massage school is much less expensive than a spa. They also have special tables so you don’t have to put pressure on your stomach. I went to a wedding Saturday. I had a breakdown in my closet. Nothing fits me! My regular clothes are all too tight and maternity clothes are all too big. My sweet darling husband had a lapse in his tactfulness and told me he didn’t like my dress. Normally I respect his opinion. I wasn’t mad at him and I knew I was being irrational, but I couldn’t help it. Baby has his own circulation. Blood is pumped by it’s own heart. The placenta has become the main source of hormones for pregnancy and later will signal milk production. This month the baby grows so rapidly that it will reach half the length it will be at birth.
