taking time for yourself?

Does anyone have a hard time finding time for yourself? I was watching this online show called Mom Life and they brought up the topic of "me time" on one of the episodes. They suggest taking at least 20 minutes every other day to do something you enjoy. I usually end up feeling guilty for not spending time with my kids, but they brought up some good points and got me thinking that its good to take time for yourself!

There’s a show online called Mom Life. My favorite show topic is “me time.” I believe it’s important for mom’s everywhere to take time for “me time.” If you are interested in watching this episode, go to the mom life website at www (dot) jenandbarbmomlife (dot) com

I have a two year old daughter and I live in a small two bedroom apartment with her and her father. I work ten hours a day four days a week with weekends off. So I already don\'t get as much time with her as I would like too. Even though our time is cut short, I still need time for myself. Sometimes she is difficult and sometimes her dad gets on my nerves. I guess the feelings are humanly. I usually only get \"Me\" time when I go to the bathroom. I wait until my daughter is sleep and her daddy is sleep or winding down & take a long hot bath and read a book, magazine, sleep, do a puzzle book, write a grocery list. Whatever floats my boat. When I\'m done, I wrap up in my robe or put on my pjs, check on them both and continue to enjoy myself. Watch t.v., eat a late night snack (without having someone begging for what I have or criticizing me for eating so late) or simply go to sleep. My days off, I spend as much time with my daughter as I can although I may catch a movie and take her to a babysitter. Hey, Thats life.

I have 3 kids at home with me- in the next few weeks my daughter is going to 3rd grade so I will just have my 2 year old and newborn home with me both boys- I take me time when they are napping- and when my hubby is home I like to go to the gym to work out- or I just curl up with a good book when they all go to bed with my hubby by my side- it is always good to take time out for yourself

I agree with you all. Mom time is good for us all, it makes us more emotionally adequate to deal with the challenged of motherhood, in my opinion. I am so glad I found this website, MomLife. I have seriously learned so many different things to help my life: starting up a Cook Club with some girlfriends while the kids are at school, and helping my kids play safe sports.. Great topics to look into. Here\'s the site in case any of you want to become obsessed with MomLife like me! haha
